Mans search for meaning is a book by Victor E Frankl who during WWII was a prisoner in a concentration camp. Prior to being incarcarated he was a psychologist who was already trying to develop a new way of looking at human psychology. His experience being in a concentration camp gave him a unique look into suffering and the human condition. He was able to witness humanity in its most dire state and still, he saw hope. After being saved from the concentration camps at the end of the war, he developed logotherapy
